Start/finish: Haytor Visitor Centre, TQ13 9XT
Climb to Haytor Rocks, turn R and take the path north-west past an old quarry to the old granite tramway. Cross and head downhill to the east of Holwell Tor to another tramway, turn L to Holwell Quarry (1.2 miles/1.9km). At the end of the quarry take a steep R downhill and into some woodland, cross Becka Brook on a new clapper bridge then run uphill, trending R to Hound Tor (2.2 miles/3.6km). Turn R and run down the path, past the old medieval village and then uphill to a gate. Follow the path steeply downhill, cross Becka Brook and up a rocky path to a junction. Turn L onto the bridleway down to Leighon then stay R up a byway to the road below Black Hill (4.1 miles/6.6km). Turn R and run up to Black Hill and along the ridge to Smallacombe Rocks. Continue south to the tramway then take paths south past Haytor Quarries to the start.
