Holyhead Mountain
Distance: 5 miles (8km)
Ascent: 403 metres
Start/finish: Breakwater country park, LL65 1YG
Join the Wales Coast Path and follow it north around Holyhead Mountain. Detour down to the promontory at North Stack then continue on the coast path, now heading south to SH 217831 where you can take a smaller path inland (1.2 miles/2km). Follow this to the trig point on Holyhead Mountain at 220 metres. Pick up a path slightly L of the ascending path to return to the coast path only a little further south than where you left it. Turn L onto the coast path and follow it to the road and viewpoint above South Stack lighthouse. Stay on the coast path then turn L up to the car park at the seabird centre (2.9 miles/4.7km). Head east crossing moorland to the R of Holyhead Mountain, then bear L, joining the end of a road and turning L back into the country park and the start.
