The Mull of Galloway trail is waymarked and marked on OS maps.
Follow the Mull of Galloway trail south out of Stranraer on the A77 then L onto the A75. Turn R onto Westwood Avenue and then R off the road and onto the trail. Cross the Black Stank and the railway and head south through woodland to a road at Boreland Cottage. Turn L onto the road then R onto a track past Drumdoch to another road at Barnultoch. Turn L onto this and follow it across the B7077 to the beach at Clayshant. Turn R and follow the coast south-west to Sandhead and then south, parallel to the A716 and past Ardwell, to reach Drummore. Continue south on the coast path to the Mull of Galloway.
The easiest way back to the start is to run back to Drummore where you can catch a bus to Stranraer.
