An out-and-back route to visit the incredible fossil tree, with wildly differing views in each direction.
Turn R out of the car park and follow the main track west, bearing R at the first junction and continuing to Tavool House (2.8 miles/4.5km). Stay L and follow the track to the monument just west of Burg Farm. Descend to the grassland and run along the coast, joining singletrack paths contouring below the cliffs to reach a metal ladder (5.5 miles/8.8km). Descend the ladder and boulder-hop along the breach past a big waterfall and around the corner to find the fossil tree in an alcove next to a large cave. Turn around and return by the same route.
