Distance: 4 miles (6km)
Ascent: 582 metres
Start/Finish: Cleadale, PH42 4RL

Follow the road north through Cleadale and onto a track heading in the same direction above the fields onto the open mountainside below Dunan Thalasgair. Turn R and climb the zig-zagging path onto the ridge and turn right to the trig point at 336 metres. Follow the ridge south-east over Sgorr an Fharaidh and across the Allt Bidein an Tighearna. Continue around to the R and descend on vague paths down to the road to the south of the start point, turn R to return to the start.
Assuming you are staying on Eigg, a great route for the second day is an ascent of An Sgurr from Galmisdale – the summit offers one of the best views in the country.
