Follow Crabtree Lane north-west to the Beechy Wood car park. Turn R here onto a bridleway heading north to a path junction (1.6 miles/2.5km). Turn R and follow a bridleway east and cross the A24 into Mickleham. Turn L and at a track junction (TQ 173540, 3 miles/4.9km) turn R. Follow the footpath uphill across a byway and onto a bridleway running north-east to a path junction in Cherkley Wood. Turn R and run downhill to Lodgebottom Road. Cross and continue on the bridleway, forking L and crossing Headley Heath. Turn R before reaching Headley Common Road and follow the path south then south-west around the common to a junction at the edge of the houses in Box Hill (6.7 miles/10.8km). Turn L following the track south, crossing Boxhill Road and bear R onto the North Downs Way. Follow this over Box Hill then turn R, following the high ground to the north before dropping down to Burford Bridge. Follow the path south and under the A24 then follow Westhumble Street back to the start.
