Follow Sandlings Walk south-east from the start, crossing a road then leaving the Sandlings trail to continue ahead on a footpath to Heath Cottages. Turn R here and run west through woodland and across Tunstall Common, turning R on a path 100 metres before reaching the road at Tunstall village (2 miles/3.3km). Follow the path north, turning L at the next junction and then reaching the road. Follow this past Walk Farm and continue around a sharp R corner north to the B1069 at White Cross Farm (2.8 miles/4.6km). Cross the B1069 and follow a bridleway north to a junction with a byway at the corner of Tunstall Forest (3.5 miles/5.7km). Turn R and follow the track back to the start.
