Head downhill from the start to the creek then follow Passage Road or the footpath in Ferry Wood west along Newton Creek to the Yealm estuary. Continue on the South West Coast Path around Gara Point, east past Warren Cottage and then curve north above Stoke Beach. Continue on the coast path past Beacon Hill and down the steep hill to Wadham Beach. At the top of the next hill turn L, leaving the coast path, and run along the track to the road (6.7miles/10.8km). Turn R onto the road, take the next L and then R onto a byway just before Lambside Cottages. Follow this north, then turn L at the next junction to the road at Membland. Take the road back to Bridgend. At high tide, turn L back to the start, or at low tide turn R, crossing into Newton Ferrers and across the tidal walkway back to the start.
