Start/finish: Rhyd-Ddu car park, LL54 6TN
From the start cross the A4085 and follow the straight path to the north of Llyn y Gader. Turn R after the footbridge then L at the junction with the B4418, turning straight onto a bridleway heading south-west up onto the mountainside. Turn R onto open mountainside and ascend Y Garn to the cairn at 633 metres. Turn L on the ridge and follow it south over Mynydd Drws-y-Coed and around to the R, across the col and up to Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd at 653 metres (3.2 miles/5.1km). Turn L on the ridge south and around to the R over Bwlch Dros-bern and above Craig Pennant to the cairn at 734 metres. Follow the trail south-west from here above Craig Cwm Silyn to Garnedd-goch at 700 metres (5.3 miles/8.6km). Finally continue in the same direction downhill, turning L and climbing to Bwlch Cwmdulyn. Head R along the ridge (west) to the final summit of Mynydd Graig Goch at 610 metres (6.8 miles/11km). Turn around and retrace the route to the start.
