Crowden Clough
Distance: 6.5 miles (10km)
Ascent: 663 metres
Start/finish: Edale Station, S33 7ZP
Follow the road north, turn L at the start of the Pennine Way and follow it west across fields to Upper Booth. Turn R onto the track then R again after the bridge onto a small footpath following the Crowden Brook north up Crowden Clough. Some parts are scrambly if you stay in the brook’s bed but can be avoided by using higher paths to the sides. Reach the top of the clough at SK 094872 (3.4 miles/5.5km) and join a path to the R (Crowden Tower is a short detour to the R from here). Follow this path east and then down into Grindsbrook Clough. The path follows the Grinds Brook back to Edale and the start of this route.
