Wild Running by Jen and Sim Benson
In this ultimate guide to running the hills, dales and vales of Britain you will…
We were delighted when Tobias Mews, author of the brand new 50 Races to Run Before You Die (RRP £16.99, Aurum Press), agreed to do a book swap with us. We love nothing better than a good book to inspire our next challenge, and 50 Races delivers inspiration in bucket loads. It’s great-looking and packed with photos of the featured races, all of which Tobias has done. In fact it’s a bit like an extreme Where’s Wally, only you have to spot the author amongst a crowd of other muddied runners on each page. It’s all really well laid-out, with a clear format that introduces each race along with key facts and figures, elevation profile and how Tobias got on. The races are split between three sections: Good for Beginners, Sucker for Punishment and Hard as Nails, so you can make your choice depending upon the level of epic-ness you’re after. There are also plenty of entertaining tales, along with top tips for anyone considering taking part. We found the book thoroughly inspiring and, although we’ve ticked off a few between us already, we’ve added a whole load more to our to-do list too.
You can read all about Tobias on his website, buy his book here or get inspired about races, adventures and kit at Hard as Trails.
